What Our Customers Say
|
Josh was very polite, on time and very helpful. Our garage door works very smoothly after he replaced the springs. It's hard to believe it's the same garage door, it's so quiet now! I can recommend them if you need garage door repair. Susan - Sun Prairie, WI. |
Garage Door Control Location & Safe Usage |
|
It is extremely important that the push button controls that are mounted on the wall is not within reach of a child. For child safety reason the controls should be mounted a minimum of 5 feet above the floor. Secondly, the door controls should not be located close to any parts that move (like the door itself). The best place to mount the controls is a place from where you can see the garage door as it closes. That way you can see and know with certainty that there is no person or object in the way. It is also a good practice to wait and see that the garage door closes properly before you walk away.
Your garage door is most likely the heaviest object in your whole house and when it comes down it comes down with some force and if a person is present underneath the door they will likely get hurt. If an object is caught between the door and the floor it will likely be damaged. Safety is a top priority for everyone at Garage Door Repair Techs and that is one reason why we offer our 25-point safety inspection with every garage door service call. If we find anything that can be corrected or made more safe we will let you know.
